If you drive north from Nome, on the Nome Taylor highway, also known as the "Kougarok Road," you will be using this repeater. Start picking it up as you approach Salmon Lake in the Nugget Divide area (mile 28 of the road).

This repeater is on a commanding mountain at the eastern end of the Kigluaik Mountains (also known as the "Sawtooth Mountains"). It is on a helicopter-only accessible peak of 3,550 feet elevation. Some daring snowmachiners have barely made it as well.

Using solar power, this repeater operates year around. Its coverage area is wide, including the north side of the mountain range, the Kougarok, Taylor and Bendeleben areas, the Pilgrim and Kuzitrin Rivers, Imuruk Basin ("Salt Lake"), and with some care, Teller and Brevig Mission.
